I have a question for the Harry Potter fandom: At the start of Philosopher's Stone we see Vernon Dursely go to work where strange things happen and there is talk of 'He Who Shall Not Be Named' being gone. It is implied that the day is the 1st of November. We also know that James and Lily died on the 31st of October. When Hagrid brings Harry to Dumbledore and the Dursley's it is the same day as Vernon went to work and saw all the wizards out and about. Hagrid tells Dumbledore he borrowed the motorbike from Sirius Black and we are later told (in Prisoner of Azkaban) that Sirius begged Hagrid to give Harry to him. My question is: If James and Lily died on the evening of the 31st of October and Harry was not picked up from Godrics Hollow until the evening of the 1st of November, then was Harry just sat in the house in Godrics Hollow for a whole day whilst the rest of the Wizarding World celebrated the death of Voldemort? And if Sirius had been with Harry during that time then why would he wait for Hagrid to come and then beg Hagrid to let him keep Harry?

@Huffle_puff_08 they would have needed to check Harry out make sure he'd physically okay I mean he was hit with the killing curse the curse no one is supposed to have survived. By the time they've finished making sure he's healthy and okay it would be midday. Not exactly easy to transport him. Especially if there are death eaters waiting for him they'd need to move at night.
