So, Hufflepuffs believe in fair play. They believe in justice, things shaking out the way they ought to. They're also loyal; loyal to friends, ideals, causes.... you get the idea. On the negative side, I think a Hufflepuff might be loyal to a grudge. This gets noted twice; being "true" refers to the same trait. It also mentions patience. They are not afraid to have to wait a long time to get what they deserve, but they'll work for it loyally, and believe they'll get it because they deserve it. And finally, they are not scared to get their hands dirty. They'll work for something long and hard. See a Ravenclaw might try to find a way around an obstacle; Gryffindors and Slytherins might try to bully or coerce their way through. But Hufflepuffs will tackle it head on, and work until they're past it.
