I wrote my first novel because I needed an escape from the pandemic and my life as a whole. Covid-19 wasn't necessarily kind to anyone and It didn't damage me as much as it did others, but I still felt its effects. 
My novel, The Shadow of Lightning, is not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination. But it serves to remind me to face my fears, don't take any moment for granted, and to find the light in everything no matter how dark the reality is. Hopefully, it will do the same for you.
