I know I was gone from wattpad for too long for people to read my stories anymore, and I have no desire to advertise my stories just to get reads. But IF you read what I write, whether you liked it or not, I would like to know what you thought of it. If it bored you, if it inspired you, if you thought it was wonderful or awful, knowing that my work brushed someone else's life helps me in many ways. Some days it becomes my muse and others it just helps me out of a funk, but I truly appreciate the people who read my stories. And IF you liked what you saw, telling just one other person about it, whether they read it or not, would make my day.
And it's not just me. There are hundreds of wonderful authors on this site who don't necessarily want to have a million readers, but genuinely care that the few readers they do have cared about their stories.
My latest poem was inspired by a book I read recently. It a fantasy story, naturally, (I read little else) but I realized while reading it how much research and/or personal experience the author had to have had with the general topics of the book to make it so convincing. And it just hit me all of a sudden how the author must have felt while writing it. Because it is not a happy story. And so I got the urge to write a poem, just to vent off my feelings.
