Sometimes stories don't apply to you, don't read them if you don't like it. A writer writes a story about a character and apples you into a story. It's not about how you feel it's about how your character in a story is feeling in a certain situation. It's just like a real person playing a character in a movie. It's not about them it's about the character. Just saying.
