            he smiled softly when will finally began to relax and close his eyes . mark leaned over and kissed the side of his head , continuing to massage at will’s scalp . he didn’t mind sitting still for an hour or two if it meant will getting some rest especially when he seemed so down .

            ⁽  instinctively  his  eyes  shut  so  he  wouldn't  accidentally  get  poked  in  the  eye  or  something  like  that.  mark  removed  and  fixed  what  was  disorderly  about  his  appearance.  what  would  make  it  more  comfortable  for  sleep  to  find  him. the  only  response  given  was  a small  not  of  understanding  although  heavy  eyes  still  remained  open  until  his  fingers  ran  through  his  hair  and  they  would  start  to  droop.  but  it  was  almost  like  he  was  fighting  off  sleeping. ⁾

            “ you’ve never seen a superhero before ? seriously ? “ invincible rested his hands on his hips with a raised brow . no offense to the government or anything but he was getting kind of tired of having to explain to different squadrons that he wasn’t a fictional being .

            “ very funny . . but seriously i don’t want to give birth in the car or anything . . “ mark huffed as he got out of bed with john’s help . he was quick to throw on some clothes and prepare himself mentally . he’d nearly toppled over just from the pain of the first contractions , exhaling sharply , it’d only get worse from here but he was glad they were nearing the end of the wait . there was also the natural fear he’d felt before this even started , mark wanted to be strong enough to deliver the baby even though he was already exhausted just from being restless .

            blinking for a few minutes , brain still a bit blurry from sleep before it finally hit him .  blue eyes went wide , almost wide enough to fall right out from its sockets and paired with an almost quite yet somehow loud enough to hear ‘shite’ .  nearly falling out from bed as he sprung to his feet , making sure to offer the other a hand .  “ that time already ?  dinnae notice nine months could go by so quickly .  ” time really does fly by sometimes , too fast in john’s opinion .  “ here’s tae hopin’ i still have two hands by the end of this .  ”

            “ i think . . . i think we should go to the hospital , “ mark muttered as he glanced up at john , he felt really weird , there was the ache of course but it was different this time . he hadn’t been able to sleep since four in the morning either .
