ah okay! first of all pity starts from the last time you got a 5 star or when you just started wishing on a banner (like say you got diluc after 50 pity/wishes your pity resets to 0). Pity does not go over from the character banners to the standard banner but the character banner pity goes from character banner to character banner. (Like if you have 50 pity of kazuha banner you have 50 pity in ayaka banner when it comes out) soft pity starts at I think 65 pity (aka after you’ve done 65 wishes) and that’s when your chance for a five star goes up. Hard pity is from I think 80-90 pity. 90 wishes is when you are guaranteed a five star. If you don’t get the five star from the banner (like you get Keqing) then you are guaranteed to get the character banner five star, but your pity resets. Hopefully this help!
