@allygator91 Up until two weeks ago I would've said as soon as I finished my exams, I would've said that as soon as my GCSE's finished I would be back to writing. But I watched to last episode of season2 and I can't bring myself to write or read anything centred around Monty and I cannot morally support him anymore. Not in the way that you will want me to, but I may take the story in a completely different direction. When I watched I was in shock for a while and I kept thinking to myself "That's not the Monty I wrote, thats not my Monty, the Monty from season 1". But then I stopped myself, because I was doing it, I was as bad as all the people who think its okay to normalise sexual assault. Because I will not support/romanticise a sexual assaulter. I can't do it and hopefully you will respect that. I know some fanfic writers like to pretend that he stays as he is in season 1 (just a bit of a dick) or say that their Monty isn't canon but I think they're going against everything the show is about. Bryce was able to escape proper justice because people didn't want to think that he was a rapist, they just ignored it because in their heads their Bryce wasn't like that, they only wanted to think of him as the kind successful friend/son they thought they'd raised and he probably used to be, and people rightfully got so mad about it, they were so frustrated when he avoided justice because people didn't want to face the truth. And yet its okay to forget about what Monty did and only see him as the kind sensible successful boyfriend they have written about in their fics and refuse to admit what he's done. Double standard. Monty from the 1st season knew that Bryce had raped Hannah and did nothing about it, he support him afterwards so how can people defend continuing to write a lovey dovey Monty fanficiton?
So I may finish the story when my exams are over in a week or two but just be warned, the events of the last episode will be acknowledged.
Love you guys xxxx -Ans
