Hello People of the World. This Monday we're bringing you something completely different. Today we bring you a fun fact that you may or may not have known before.
Did you know that Saint Lucia holds the distinction of being the only country in the world named after a woman.
Let us know in the replies what you think or if this surprised you.
Cheers,
The I&C Team.

Hello! I hope it's okay to ask this here, but I received a link to a Google Form, and since some of the questions have a character limit on the responses, would it be alright to share my full answers in the inline comments if it's published? Thank you so much!
laurendoubleu
@IdentityandCulture Thank you! I was still encountering a character limit on a few of the questions, but I can stick with the answers I originally submitted. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

◆◈ ECHOES FROM THE WORLD ◆◈
◈ Issue #3 : A Trail of Footsteps
Destination: England, Europe.
◈ Clue #1
English folklore isn't just one big book of myths; it's more like a messy, colorful quilt made by all the different groups of people who lived there over the centuries. Each new group added their own layer to the mix. For the May issue of Echoes from the World, we travel throughout English traditions.
See you there and let's resolve this new mystery.

It's nice to see my book featured in your latest reading list, but I'll be honest and admit that I'm not sure if it really counts as AAPI, since I'm from Australia and the story isn't about Asian Americans at all.
IdentityandCulture
@adelineday Hello there, While this list is inspired by AAPI Heritage Month, we chose to broaden our scope to include API voices from across the globe. We wanted to celebrate the whole community. By including voices from both the U.S. and around the world, we get to see the full beauty of Asian and Pacific Islander cultures. We chose not to limit this list to just one country. We wanted to make sure we included as many great authors and stories as possible from the entire API community. You can find more informations about this here : https://www.wattpad.com/1625202350-echoes-of-the-week-culture-chronicles-api-heritage Hope it helps.

@IdentityandCulture I can't go into everything, but yin and yang is a somewhat prominent concept, and a creation myth tells of a primordial being named Pangu who emerged from a cosmic egg and separated heaven from earth. When he died, his various body parts became different aspects of our world and galaxy.

@IdentityandCulture in the Indian culture, the earth is referred to an Bhooma Devi or Mother Earth and is meant to be revered.

◇◆ ARAB HERITAGE MONTH ◇◆
─── ◈ ───
Many Voices, One Community: Writer to Writer
─── ◈ ───
Writer: @yasha1021
Story: The Heirs of Honour
Description: Family dynamics and the Arabic language.
◇◆What inspired you?
"I was inspired to write a mafia/thriller book that wasn't romance based, where the characters are Arabs and not of a specific religious affiliation.."
◇◆The Message for Fellow Writers
"Be inspired by Arab heritage! Culture and customs can always be manipulated in world building. There will always be at least one person who wants to read the story you're about to write. Write anything that you would want to read too...It could be about a character fighting the negative aspects of their culture that's being imposed on them, or a world where Arab inspired fictional nations live in harmony OR political unrest, thus creating a fantasy world."
─── ◈ ───
@Yasha1021 reminds us that Arab heritage is a powerful foundation for any genre. By focusing on the central role of family and the flexibility of world-building, you can create a narrative that is both culturally rooted and unique.

We got another message from @SabrinaElouardi
◇◆What inspired the submission?
"In a time where diasporic grief is high, remember: our history is ours."
◇◆The Message for Fellow Writers
"Follow your breadcrumbs and curiosities about the region, write a story that honors your voice "
═══════════ ◈ ═══════════
Thank you, @SabrinaElouardi and @yasha1021 for your messages.

◆◈What inspired you?
I wanted to represent Muslims on a more real level than how it's usually done, exploring the evolution of Islam and our community in a grounded, authentic way.
◆◈ The Message for Fellow Writers
Just go naturally. Don’t think mechanically, but let the flow take the lead.
◆◈Cultural Writing Prompt
What is the one misconception you want to erase from the world about Muslims? Write a scene where a character defies a common stereotype through a simple, everyday action or a personal moment of growth.
─── ◈ ───
@Mri_writes reminds us that authenticity comes from the heart, not a formula. By letting your story flow naturally and focusing on real things, you can challenge misconceptions and show the truth.
═══════════ ◈ ═══════════
Writer: @Rukhsaarqalam
Story: Echoes Of The Olive Tree
Description : Palestine and India , War of Palestine
◆◈What inspired you?
I was inspired by my culture and the need for better representation. I wanted to show that Arab heritage is diverse, rich, and so much more than the stereotypes often seen.
◆◈ The Message for Fellow Writers
Start simple, be honest, and write what feels true to you.
◆◈Cultural Writing Prompt
An Indian author writing about a young Indian journalist who travels to Palestine for work. In the middle of war and hardship, he meets a Palestinian woman, and they fall in love. Despite the challenges around them, their love grows, and they eventually get married.
─── ◈ ───
@Rukhsaarqalam reminds us that love can bloom even in the most challenging moments. By focusing on honesty and the human connection, we can tell stories that honor the diversity of the community.
