@IdentityandCulture Not my culture per se, but where I live now. Whenever I go to a different state and dine out, I always order anything peach flavored that I see on the menu so my friends joke that I'm the poster child of my state because of how much I love peach desserts XD

katiegoesmew

@IdentityandCulture I didn't know that, but I told my dad, who is a structural engineer, and he went into a description about how he has to account for heat expansion when designing structures that are over 300 feet tall. He didn't know the Eiffel tower expanded that much, though.

@IdentityandCulture St. John's Eve. Experience the magic as you leap over bonfires and summon the supernatural creatures hiding in the night. A tradition as old as time itself.

Hello People of the World!

It's a new week, and today for our amazing fun fact; we're travelling to Saudi Arabia!

Did you know that Saudi Arabia is often called the "Land with No Rivers" because it has no permanent rivers? Instead, most of its freshwater comes from desalination plants and underground reservoirs.

This Monday, we want to know: What is one unique geographical or natural fact about your country that might surprise the rest of the world?

Nigeria is home to the Cross River gorilla (Gorilla gorilla diehli), the world's rarest gorilla subspecies. It is found only in the forests and mountainous regions along the Nigeria–Cameroon border.

How do you celebrate birthdays in your culture?

We're curious, so let us know in the replies!

@IdentityandCulture Cake and presents. My family also gets dinner at the birthday person's restaurant of choice, which I think is pretty common for other people to do, too. Basically, the birthday person gets everything their way for their birthday.

@IdentityandCulture In my culture, birthdays usually start with blessings from our elders, followed by good food, cake, and plenty of phone calls or messages from family and friends. It's less about the gifts and more about spending the day with the people who matter most.
