I feel like self inflected pain hurts way more than normal pain.
          
          Why?
          
          Because you're hypersensitive that you're about to get hurt, therefore your pain is also more sensitive.
          
          For example, I just stepped on something sharp, and i thought it was a splinter or something until i realized i was tracking blood on the floor.
          
          And when I realized this, it suddenly began to hurt more just because of the fact that I knew i was hurt.
          
          Just thoughts

i stubbed my toe and hopped around a bit saying ow, but then i looked down and my nail was halfway detached from my toe. even though the pain level was probably the same, it seemed to hurt much more profoundly then and i couldn't stand up XD
