My name's Ilex Bell.  I'm a fourteen-year-old blogger, artist and (almost) author who spends an inordinate amount of their free time reading Shounen Jump manga.  When I'm not designing characters and concocting vaguely funny dialogue, I like to post articles on my new blog Blue Paint and Purple Prose, where I review books, discuss writing endeavours and all the little things that make being a teenager and a writer such a weird, awesome experience.

I wrote my first full manuscript for a young adult novel during National Novel Writing Month, 2014.  After beating JK Rowling's famous rejection record I decided that it might be best to try again with something slightly different, and I'm currently drafting a YA/fantasy crossover novel which should be completed by October this year.  In the meantime, what better way to improve my writing skills than on Wattpad, one of the biggest writing platforms in the world?
