          This story draws on history of ancient Rome and World War  Two,  which included fighting in North Africa, Sicily ,  and Italy.
          
          The chapter featuring comedian Bob Hope entertaining  thousands of  soldiers  in North Africa is fiction. However, Mr. Hope actually  did fly all over war zones in the Pacific during  1941-1945,  entertaining sailors, marines, and soldiers.
          
          Hope's  comedy routine contains  actual things he said during his appearances.
          
          Bob entertained men and women in the military  until 1991.
