Hey love! First off, thank you so much for reading my work. It truly means a lot. I saw your comment and really appreciate the critique. A lot of the questions you raised are actually addressed a bit further in the story. Aiden’s a tricky character—he’s a paradox even to me sometimes. His way of processing emotions comes from his upbringing in the mafia, and Sophie represents something he’s never fully understood. She chooses compassion where he expects rightful retaliation, and that fascinates him. She’s from a whole another world to him. And then she surprises him, when he realized she isn’t all that meets the eye, in fact she has more conflicting layers to her in regard to her family and upbringing. That some of their experiences are even shared in ways. Even when he disliked her, he was always drawn to her, and I tried to show that shift subtly throughout the story. It’ll make more sense as things unfold later on. It’s easier for him loathe something he can’t understand because deep down he fears how it makes him truly feel. Thanks for reading again <3
