I’m in a bit of a pickle right now. With my car payments and insurance totaling around $400 a month, I’m constantly low on funds. I need to start testosterone soon, too, because my mental health is on a constant decline. While I don’t have to pay for my regular therapy sessions ($100 for 45 minutes), I do have to pay her for writing my letter of recommendation ($175). With Christmas around the corner, I don’t really have the money to do any of that right now.
I feel bad setting up a ko-fi or GoFundMe, so I’ve decided to edit for those who might need it. I can line edit, content edit, or beta read (prices for the latter are much lower than the two former options). In my screenshot above, I was line editing for @idreamtofreality , who was kind enough to let me plaster his work across the internet for my benefit. Also, in that screenshot, I’m editing on Google Docs. I find the suggesting feature to be extremely useful to do this.
For my prices (not set in stone; if they need to be negotiated, I am open to talking about that), I’ll charge $10 for the first 3 pages. Additional pages are between $3-5, depending on whether I’m beta reading, content editing, or line editing. It may change depending on the content as well; for more complex pieces, I may charge $4 instead of $3, and so on. For spaced out pieces or poetry, I’m more likely to charge even less because there isn’t as much content.
