Hey guys! I have both some horrible news and some awesome news! I'll start with the good news because it ties in with the bad...
So, my grandparent's 50th anniversary was on Saturday, and we had a party to celebrate. My uncle's and Grandpa's birthdays are both really close too after the anniversary, so we all went to church at my grandpa's church so we could go over to my uncle's house for dinner after. Church was great and I went with my grandparents to their house so I could help cook, while my parents, brother, and sisters went back home.
We were finished cooking and I was watching TV at my grandparents house when my grandpa said my mom was going to call me and gave me their home phone. I immediately knew it was going to be about our chickens, and that one of them was probably taken by a hawk or a predator, and expected the worst. It turns out we accidentally forgot to take the dogs back inside this morning n the rush to leave because we were so late church was going to be over by the this me we got there(thankfully we were only 20 minutes late) and the dogs got into our chicken coop. of them, a gray Americana named Bill, and my mom's Buff Brahma, Camila, had injuries so bad my dad had to put then down. Minty, a Barred rock, was found dead. 5 more are injured(I still don't know who other than a young Americana named Marigold) and my mom , who is aVet Tech, treated the birds and isn't sure if they will make it, especially with this cold. The last one ois Pepper, my Barred rock and First chicken, who is critically injured and mymom isn't sure she'll survive the night, if she isn't gone already..... I did get to check in on her when are put the chickens up, and she looked really bad.... I'm really hoping she'll be OK and that she'll recover. If none of the injured chickens survive, we'll have lost half of our flock...Please be praying for us!!! I know it kind of sounds dumb to be praying for chickens, but our chickens really mean a lot to us
