welp turns out I have celiac disease. yippee. woohoo. i can't eat most food. and what i can eat is expensive as fuck. this is super fun. i love bread that is so dense it thumps onto the counter like a rock.

@Kuki-shinobu-main Great that you got the job! That's wonderful! If you want to hang out at all during August, feel free to send me a text whenever; I've been keeping my phone charged and on me lately because of the fires, so I should get back to you pretty quick.

@Kuki-shinobu-main Ah, it's not as bad as it could be. Turns out it's the reason why I have every deficiency known to man and partially explains my chronic case of everything-hurts-osis, so if I just eat crispy minis and give up normal bread I should be doing a bit better.
So, uh, if you come over to my house, I guess just prepare for the food to be kinda bad, haha. Gluten just kind of makes my immune system want to kill my intestines.
Eat some good bread for me, alright? And I hope you're having a good summer :)

If I go silent for a month or so, it's just me taking advantage of spring break to become a hermit for a while. Have a good summer, folks!

My dad's cousin mailed me a tonne of her old veterinary medicine university stuff! ninth edition merck veterinary manual, her notebooks on surgical procedures and molecular biology, books on dair cattle, manuals about finding the age of a horse by their teeth, a manual and a CD about identifying healthy and unhealthy cat and dog cardiopulmonary rhythyms, a bunch of printed-out articles... literally the coolest stuff. also a lego bighorn sheep, and a goat sticker. for fun.

watching Artemis II from about T-40 minutes was awesome. The part where it stopped at T-10 minutes and they cut to the NASA scientists checking over everything totally felt right out of a movie. and I was so happy it went forward! If you want to see where they are at any particular point in time, check out https://www.nasa.gov/missions/artemis-ii/arow/ . As I write this, they're over 33,000 miles [over 53,000 km] from Earth and well on track for the moon!

@Kuki-shinobu-main That' so sad. :( I'd really recommend skipping to 45 minutes into this, it's the CBC broadcast from the launch. Then you get to hear the really cool NASA bit and then the count down from 10 minutes to the [amazing] launch. Genuinely the coolest thing I've ever seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8fbLrdaGko

With that link you might have to wait a while for it to load, though! Have to watch the Earth spin for a while.
