Ok - I have a few issues with this book 1. Restraining orders and criminal charges are treated separately and warrants are not issued nor our cases with attorneys present dismissed if someone doesn't show up. 2. Never once have I seen a woman happy to have killed the father of her child. That left a bad taste in my mouth. 3. Tony was a product of his own cycle of abuse so what chance did he have and usually DV classes and group therapy is part of of the criminal charges portion IN DV cases. Lastly Tony never was a drug user Just abused alcohol - Really alcohol is considered just as damaging with a strict recovery plan that you have to want as much as drug addiction. Lastly - to show happiness after killing someone - WTF - Congrats you just taught your daughter people are disposable and can I read one book where the knight in shinning Armour doesn't show up. And on a side note - when you are divorcing someone who "vanishes" you don't have to wait for an arrest to get it finished to be "free" - Granted by default happens more times that you think. It takes the average DV victim 6 times before they leave their abuser for good and this main character did it successfully on the first try with just brushing off the dust and moving on bc of her secret transfers on a joint account - NO way would that ever have happened in reality every dime of money is used as a way to controll the victim. When you do leave you need a plan that allows you to stay hidden bc this where most DV cases become homicides and watch the movie The Burning Bed - She took care of him too and it's based of a true story - She was still arrested and put on trial, Larana Bobbit, Laura Kellog, and she went to prison.
