J’s look just furrowed more. “What?”
The bob-hair jumped up from the counter, groaning as she did. “Ever since we got out of that amusement park, you’ve been trying to act all tall and mighty–why?”
At this point Lizzy had put her phone down; watching these two fight was far more entertaining to her than scrolling the same forums she and her friends always looked at. Thad on the other hand back up a bit, trying to ensure he didn’t get caught in any potential ‘crossfire’.
J placed her wrists against her hips and rolled her eyes. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Really? No idea?” V took a step forward as she spoke.
“What are you trying to say?” J took her own step forward, putting the two of them within punching distance of each other–a measurement which they both knew they were within."
