What a beautiful Independence Day it has been for our country this year. Witnessing the horrors committed not just against Dr. Moumita (late), but also against many other women in our country, where they are considered goddesses, has shaken me to the core. Our country, which prides itself on being the largest democracy in the world, has failed to deliver the justice that innocent souls deserve. We, as a society, as fellow humans, have failed. Happy Independence to all the rapists who are set free after committing such heinous crimes against another human being. Happy Independence Day to the fall of humanity that we are witnessing.
