In a story that I am currently reading I came across a stereotype that has to do with sexuality. (I have no problem with it being in the story but) This bothers me, mostly because I have get a lot of people who act the same way towards me. Its not much of a stereotype, it just the idea people get that you are attracted to all/majority of your desired gender/whatever they wish to be.
This is the following comment I left. Like I said the end I do nit want to offend people, I just felt the need to say this, and weather or not you agree with me is up to you.
The reason people are usually upset at someone having all /most of their friends be the opposite gender, is based apon sexuality.
This mostly bothers me because so many people bring this up towards me, as someone who classifies as pansexual, I can be attracted to anyone regardless of their gender identity.
But a lot of people think it means Im just attracted to everyone.
I do have standards, and I have a brain
I have a type
Say 50% of people fall into that category
about 50% of that could be attracted to my gender
And ai fall in about 30% of their types.
That leaves around 0.075% of the world that I can date.
So no I am not attracted to everyone
Bi people are not attracted to all men and all women
Gay people are not attracted to ever person of the same gender
Straight people are not attracted to every person of the opposing gender
So don't assume that I like my friends that way, or that I will end up liking them in that way.
If you read all of this thank you, if not thats cool
Im sorry if i offended anyone
I didn't have that intention
This is purely my opinion
And I am don with people assuming that I have a crush on them and ever
See you on the other side
