These things always stress me out but I'll give it my best shot.
I've been writing for as long as I can remember, everything from poems and songs (which were never any good.) to fanfiction.
All these are great but they only fulfilled me for so long and I tended to lose my way on them, then one day I sat down and told myself it was time to write something original. This was the moment I realised that writing can be hard. Ridiculously hard!
My most common problem was not having the inspiration to keep going with a story. Thinking of plots was never difficult but actually sitting down and telling myself I can do it and will do it was where I failed constantly. It sounds cliché but one day, the right story just seemed to fall into my lap and the inspiration came from music, more specifically I had come home from a concert still high on the adrenaline and that's when I knew what to do with my story.
It's a work in progress and I question myself about it more times in a day than I do anything else but there is always the urge to continue on despite my self-doubt.
Dream big, that's what I tell myself. One of these days it'll be your book on the shelves at Waterstones and it will be your book that people and social media rave about. One of these days it's going to be your story that makes the leap to the silver screen and that's when you can stop second guessing yourself officially.
It's all there, waiting for you so go out and grab it by the horns. Opportunities wont sit around and wait on you, you have to go out and find them, so go!
I hope my ramblings have done something to help you better understand me and I look forward to the day I gather the courage to start posting my story!
