Writing wasn't always something I enjoyed doing, but when I did write, let's just say "details" were an understatement. I've always had so much to say and if you'd let me I'd ramble on forever. I first discovered my love for poetry in the 7th grade. Back then I didn't really enjoy the whole "read three books a semester" thing, so luckily my teacher gave me an alternative. She told me if I wrote five poems a semester, she'd give me an A+ in reading. At the time, I hated poem writing! I didn't want to have to sit there and think of words that rhyme like "cat..hat...bat...fell on a mat, splat" ugh, but it beat reading books so I did it! I wrote around ten poems that year and handed them in. My teacher LOVED them! She told me I should do it more often and that I had a lot of potential. Ever since then I've been writing poems. I'm not great at it but I have improved a lot since I started. I don't write as much as I would like, but I do when I can and feel inspired. I find that my best work comes out when I'm feeling very emotional about something. My 7th grade teacher influenced me so much that til' this day I apply things she taught me to my daily life. I've also become a huge book worm! I love reading now it's crazy. My favorite types of novels are dystopian books! I'm obsessed with them, but also enjoy fantasy fairytale books. I love to write my opinions thoughts and emotions out. I feel like you can get as creative as you'd like, and besides "punctuation" there's no rules! "The best world to escape to is the one that exists in your brain! After all, you are the author...right?"
