What's that thing in your background?

I see what looks like a trigger, but also a handle, or haft. Can't quite figure out which way is up. What is it?

I drew it at an angle on the paper with the back going off the paper. I just rotated the image for the background.

@Interesting_Name Ah, alright, I see it.

That stock's going to hurt though.

It's supposed to be a railgun from the story I'm writing, or at least how I imagine it. Probably not my best work.

The idea is that it has superconudcting rails that require liquid nitrogen as coolant. The cylinders are where the nitrogen is stored.

Hey since you're a 'master of the arts', would you mind checking my 'book of art'? I would like some comment and know which of them you like and how to improve... ;)
          If you can, that is.
          thanks

I wouldn't call myself a master of the arts. Drawing is pretty much all I do. I left some comments, but really the only way to improve at anything is to just do it a lot. That being said, I'm looking to improve in writing. I have a pretty dark science fiction story up, I'm not sure if you'd be interested, but if you are I would love some feedback on how to improve my writing.

Thanks for the follow. I didn't realise you had done the art for "Generic's" cover. It's brilliant.

I used to only draw from my imagination, though this year I've been experimenting with reference pictures and some hyper-realism. For the cover art that I drew I used a reference picture from the Ukrainian revolution that happened a little while ago. Though I improvised quite a bit. The character in front, Faceless, I drew entirely from imagination. Everything else was pretty much taken from the photo.

@Interesting_Name Drawing from your imagination is a learned skill for sure! I am trying to train myself up for that because I am attempting to do my own cover art. I am used to only drawing exactly what I see. If I can get this "fantasy" art thing down, I am going to try to break into book covers. I am starting to sell my art to help fund my book publishing (editing and marketing...possibly book covers) and I figure it might be good to combine them a bit more.

Anyway, I have a lot of respect for anyone who can draw out of their head like that.

Thank you. Funny thing is I've been drawing the characters for quite some time before I even started writing. The inspiration of the 'Faceless' character actually came to me in a dream I had in middle school.
