Don't worry, I didn't give up writing the story. Just took some advice on improving my writing from different authors, so I'm rewriting most of the chapter. I'm unsure how long the voting period for the reactions should be and how to set it up. Polls are cool, but they are at the bottom of the chapter. Just commenting next to the option is also good, but then people can vote multiple times.
