@itsyalocalnootnoot maybe lol and yeah basically it shattered my heart because of all the reactions of THREE TO FOUR SURVIVORS (one sacrificed in the end so it goes down to 3) to the fact that they're just fiction, and basically because of all the " real " suffering, they planned on ending Danganronpa once and for all. In fact, according to Monokuma and the game master (who is obviously different this time), they weren't in their character before the game, in fact they were real people who wanted to kill and try something new before Flash Light (which gives them false memories) changes their character. That meant that they actually had NO Ultimates to begin with, and all what happened was according to the game master's script (since she admits it's fiction, she tries as much to alter and control it)
because of that, the characters no longer wanted to entertain the audience (which was apparently the WHOLE point of Danganronpa ; to entertain the audience and possibly bring more victims to be brainwashed and to suffer, so they basically obliterated the 4th wall multiple times in the last chapter and it all ended (with fuccing Spike Chunsoft leaving a little cliffhanger at the end like w hy)
also the deaths here were more GRUESOME (especially the executions). Its not like your " get with with baseballs till you die" shit, it's like " indulge in the suffering of your ultimates, just for WAY LONGER "
Spike Chunsoft also broke my heart for killing my fave characters agahjagejwgag—
