Ok. So. Why am I using BTWF for Sodor Crystalized instead of Trainz?
Ideally, I would use Trainz for it. It can easily be done in Trainz , Trainz frees me up with Ninjago based scenes (as I can make custom routes), and it'll also free me up in terms of character selection. Plus, BTWF is overused and very buggy.
So why not Trainz?
1. I still haven't really found a good Sodor Route with minimal missing/unknown assets for T: ANE specifically.
2. Finding good Trainz models for characters that can also work in TANE. And again, missing/unknown assets are going to be a problem for certain models. (This is the easiest thing to fix because, unlike routes, there aren't as many unknown assets in an engine in comparison to routes. This is basically a mild inconvenience in the grand scheme of things)
3. Performance. This can be fixed by something like an external hard drive, but at the moment, performance in Trainz is rather finicky, making it harder to film something.
One day I'll film Crystalized stuff in Trainz. But that day hasn't come yet.
So why BTWF and not other Thomas Roblox Games?
ThomToys is a better Thomas Roblox game, but there aren't as much locations or characters in it as BTWF.
Nowhere Railways is completely behind a paywall, so that's a no.
Locos Online... I constantly go on about how much I hate Locos Online. "But it has all the characters you need!" Locos Online is also riddled with paywalls. Rolling Stock, Faces, Private Servers, characters like Murdoch, Billy, Fergus, BoCo and Harvey are behind paywalls. Not to mention it's buggy as heck.
BTWF is buggy yes (at least, Exploring Sodor AKA Definitive Edition AKA Deluxe Edition is), but it's still free, plus it has a wide character variety. BUT it's still not ideal.
One day I'll do a Trainz Crystalized thing... One day...
TLDR: I'd like to do Crystalized stuff with Trainz, but I have some problems so BTWF, as overused as BTWF is, will have to do for now.
