I just realized something...
The real despair doesn't come from seeing your favorite characters murder each other. Or praying that your favorite characters doesn't die.
No. It comes from knowing that your favorite character WILL die, but you can't do anything about it, but watch it happen. Since you are just the viewer, and I'm the one pulling the strings here. I'm the one who says who lives and who dies...
But you? All you can do is watch it all happen... Knowing how it happened. Knowing it will happen. But all you can do is play as the spectator...
