"A system, right," she teased him slightly. "I also like telling people my mess is a calculated mess." with amusement in her eyes, she continued to move through his apartment— taking in the little things that made this place so... Clint. When he admitted it, 'A loose system', she smiled to him as if saying 'Better'. They had that kind of communication where a look, alone, could convey a whole message— so she didn't even bother to tease him further. Her entire expression did that for her, already.
            Kate watched the grapple hook arrow in his hand with interest, eyes flickering up to meet his— as if silently inquiring if he was sure she could take it. She held it carefully, then. That excitement back to her eyes. "I wouldn't!" she defended herself— he knew her better, though. And that fact alone got the younger archer smiling.
            Only a Hawkeye knew a Hawkeye like that!
            "Ha! I can't make any promises, but I'll try." she grinned up to him, just studying the arrow in her hands for a moment. "Hey, I wanted to ask— I'm heading out for a case for a while. Could you watch Lucky while I am out? He might like spending some time with his original owner... even if he'll still follow me home in the end," she teased him again, never truly giving him a break.
            But that's the very essence of their friendship, right?

            Clint stared at her for a second—flat, unimpressed, like he was deciding which part of that to respond to first.
            
            “…it’s not a nuke,” he said finally, deadpan. “You’d know if it was a nuke” a beat “and it’s not just /lying/ around,” he added, gesturing vaguely at the table. “It’s in a system.”
            
            He paused, glanced at the mess—then back at her “…a loose system” her excitement didn’t go unnoticed. It never did. Clint exhaled through his nose, shaking his head slightly as she bounced right past the near-disaster and straight into fascination.
            
            “Yeah, that’s a grapple,” he muttered, picking it up before she could. He turned it once in his hand, then—after a second’s hesitation—held it out to her “don’t fire it indoors,” he said, already knowing that needed to be said.
            
            “…or at anything you don’t want to be yanked toward you at high speed” he watched her for a moment, then added, quieter—
            
            “And you’re not getting one until you stop grabbing the ones that can take out a building” another pause, something almost amused flickering through “…but,” a small shrug, “you keep your hands where I can see ‘em for five minutes, I might reconsider.”

"And are you telling me you left a nuke arrow lying around your table LIKE THIS?!" unbelievable! And she was the one at fault for touching it?! A *breeze* coming through his open window could just as much *knock* it off the table. "You need better organization— I know it's hypocritical, I'm the one with cardboard boxes filled with arrows back at my apartment. But— seriously?! At least *mine* wouldn't wipe the whole neighbourhood off the map!" her tone changed drastically, then. Her excitement quickly returning after that strong wave of concern for Clint's own well-being. He could've blown himself up accidentally and she would've never known! "Honestly, though— that's so cool." she beamed, looking at all the arrows scattered over the table, again. This time, without touching anything— despite how much she wanted to! "Is this a grapple hook arrow? Aw, futz! Now I want one!"
