Spoilers for JRWI: Riptide up to episode 101(not that most of y’all probably watch it) 
          
          I’m by no means changing my position on any of my ships, but… I never realized how painful the “they remind me of their sibling too much” explanation is until it becomes canon :’)
          
          It’s not until the 101st episode of my favorite dnd podcast that we find out Lizzie and Jay’s late sister Ayva were in love and that Lizzie cannot look at Jay without seeing her sister. Jay and Lizzie have literally been shipped since Lizzie’s introduction in episode 28 so you can imagine how much I wanted to cry finding out that Lizzie’s feelings for Jay aren’t exactly FOR JAY (ToT)
          
          Anyways explanation aside but I know that some of my mutuals and I have decided Violet’s situation is comparable to Lizzie’s when it comes to the Quagmire boys but if Quigley happens to GENUINELY like Violet, even though I don’t like Quigley x Violet, if I was him, I’d be sick to my stomach being told that the person I’m interested in is only giving me the time of day because they can’t separate me from my estranged/dead sibling
          
          Much like I felt watching Jay’s reaction to Lizzie telling her that not only was she in love with her sis but also that she watched Ayva die :(
          obviously that’s much more complicated than Vi’s situation but still it’s a sucker punch to my heart

Since my 18th birthday is coming up in a week, I briefly considered writing a one shot about Violet’s 18th birthday- you know, a date that’s kinda talked about the entire series- but then I thought “Wait, aren’t the Baudelaires still wanted for, like, a fuckton of crimes wrongfully  pinned on them? Wouldn’t they be arrested the second they show face on the mainland? Surely nobody around is competent enough to have cleared up all those charges?? Lemony definitely didn’t have the first book out by then, MUCH LESS the 7th which is the first and/or worst crime that needs to be cleared from their name right?”
          
          The only explanation I can think of that makes sense in the context of the ASOUE universe is straight up VFD. The organization probably had some peeps chip in and pay off the police department to drop all charges or some bullshit thing like that. I dunno man.
          
          I’m probably forgetting if this was actually already answered and explained as it is 1:30 am and I’m quite tired but if I’m not forgetting anything then how is this something we’ve not asked about or given answers to?

Looking back at all of my old content I think my favorite thing we as a subsection of the ASOUE fandom decided on is that Duncan’s hair is naturally flawless and needs NO WORK to look so good but Quigley takes forever to perfect the amount of messiness in his hair XD

I just spent $100 on FAKE FLOWERS for my best friend’s 18th birthday NOBODY TELL HER!!!

I spent like 20 minutes writing about what I think each of the main 7’s love languages are WITH headcanons about how they’re expressed BUT I forgot about the word limit on posts and lost all of it (ToT)
          
          It started because I was like “Violet feels comforted by a hand on the shoulder and when Duncan held her hand and told her stories so I think her love language is physical touch” and it escalated so I’ll just list what I think with a mini version of what I wrote before
          
          Violet- Physical Touch
          >Loves contact with people she likes, hates contact with people she hates.
          Klaus- Quality Time
          >He loves reading in silence with people. Any time with anyone he loves is time well spent.
          Sunny- Acts of Service
          >Sunny was a getaway driver at less than 2 years old. Tell me she won’t do anything her family needs. I’ll wait. She specifically loves to cook for everyone (duh) but come on look at this series and tell me she isn’t the most helpful and most beloved character.
          Isadora- Words of Affirmation
          >GIVE THIS GIRL A COMPLIMENT AND SHE WILL LOVE YOU FOR ALL ETERNITY.
          Duncan- Gift Giving
          >Violet looking at a new toolkit? He’ll get it for her. Klaus has a new interest? Here’s a book on it. Izzie, I got you a necklace. Fiona, this figurine made me think of you. Quigs, saw you were running low on cartography paper, got you some. Sunny, you said you loved this movie so I got you the book.
          Quigley- Formerly Gift Giving , now Quality Time
          >After living so long without his siblings, he wants to make up for lost time with them. If he sees Duncan goin go to the store he will jump in the car. He binges shows with Isadora. Asks ANYONE to hang out all the time
          Fiona- Acts of Service but considering Gift Giving after moving
          >Submarine life was pure practicality so acts of service was where she got the most gratitude from Stepfather BUT after moving to land thinks she might like gift giving. Receiving big gifts is overwhelming but she loves silly little trinkets

*when asked about their opinions of Violet*
          
          Carmelita: I HATE Violet Baudelaire. She is a cake sniffing FREAK.
          
          Fiona: Violet is pretty cool.
          Quigley: I agree, she’s cool, yeah. Impressive chick.
          
          Isadora: Violet is the best friend I could ever ask for. I adore her.
          
          Violet: I dunno, I’d say I’m pretty cool. I’ve done a lot of stuff I’m proud of and nobody I care about hates me so… I’d say I’m alright. What did Duncan say about me? I wanna know.
          
          Klaus: VIOLET IS THE BEST OLDER SISTER EVER. 
          Sunny: WE OWE OUR LIVES TO HER!
          
          Duncan: Me? What do I think of Violet Baudelaire??? Well, uh, two things. I wanna change her last name to Quagmire, and uh… I think she deserves to be God. Yeah. I think Violet should be God. She should be able to control everything because I wholeheartedly believe she just deserves it.

          Every now and then my brain tries to cross all of these over and I’m like “oh god too much mental illness to take here” like ok Lauren we get it you had to grow up too quickly

I’m watching asoue cause I’m like “I need something to watch while I put together the legos from my friend” and I’m sitting here like “Ok Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams would love Prufrock Prep for the architecture and she could probably kill Nero with his violin for disrespecting string instruments like that and she’d force feed Carmelita cake until she was sobbing but she’d despise like everything else about it. Classes are boring, not enough mental stimuli, the library’s infrastructure is crumbling, etc. like she’d honestly run the entire place in like a week”

At fictional Prufrock Prep, the Baudelaires were bullied for not having parents…
          
          But at a public school in real life, they’d probably be bullied for being trust fund babies not gonna lie… I could see the people at my school saying that the Baudelaires think they’re Batman and shit. Maybe I just go to a shitty public school lmao
