So...apparently I have what is called "Spacial-Sequence Synesthesia." Synesthesia is a type of neurological condition where certain senses are blended instead of separate. The sequence one is the most common, but it's still pretty rare, affecting only 4% of the population.
So what this means is I have kind of like a 3D visual image of time. Years, months, weeks, days, and even hours. I also have one for numbers It's kind of like having a mental calendar in the back of my mind 24/7. Like I always know what month we're in and what day it is because of my mental calendar. I can visualy see it.
I also have something else, apparently, called "Ordinal linguistic personification" which is basically I feel like numbers and letter have a "gender" even though I know they're just numbers and letters but for some reason they just have a vibe of either a boy or girl. Like the number seven is a boy but eight is a girl. And A is a girl while C is a boy. Idk how to explain it I kinda just feel this way. This also connects to the "vibe" of a word. Like no, I'm not consciously thinking about it, but certain words just feel girlier than boyish words, yk?
The other thing my brain does, which I don't have a name for it is I make subtitles in my mind when someone is talking or I'm thinking or talking to mysf. It's also helpful for spelling and writing because I can visualize the words before they are written. And without those subtitles I find it hard to process what someone is saying. It's like if you're watching a movie with subtitles but halfway through you turn them off. Your brain gets used to it.
I'd also like to say that Synesthesia isn't a disorder it's just how my brain works.
I'm curious though: how does your brain work?
