Hoooonk!!!
The loud sound of a car's engine woke Leo, and he bashed his head against a sharp rock, feeling his wet hair catch on a sharp stone in the water. He ignored it, confused by the unfamiliar sound. He was in the woods, not the city. Unless...

He rose to his feet, sprinting forward. Then, he leapt backward, startled. There in front of him was a massive, gigantic buzz of fur and brown hair. A... bear?

He looked up from where he'd fallen. He rose to his feet, inspecting the cardboard bear. Not a bear... one of those big-foot cutouts people left on the skirts of the woods, right outside of the major highways.
This... and the car horn. He had to be on the edge of the woods, he had to be!
Leo ran forward, not bothering to put on his shirt, or grab the berries he'd collected. He had eaten enough, and surely now he would find water and civilization!

He knew it was a stupid thing to feel so excited over, but he couldn't help it. He was finally safe.

And then he realized, with a deathly thought: is civilization safer? Closer to the people, FBI agents, reality? Is it REALLY better than starving in the woods? Either way, you're being hunted.
