REBOOT IN PROGRESS
          
          Here is what’s currently going on with the Mortal Masquerade.
          
          This series was always an experiment - it was my first foray into long form fiction and I went in (pseudonym in place) with the intention of learning from the inevitable rookie mistakes. As it turned out I learned a lot, the series universe exploded far beyond anything I initially imagined and I found a ton of interconnected stories to tell around around what had started as a niche, pervy and slightly problematic premise. Thank-you to everyone who has given me feedback in various ways, with @innerfyre being especially generous with their time.
          
          The last novel ‘No Exemption for Actors’ rounded out Phase One of the story, as it were - the same events described from different perspectives. I loved writing this one, it’s Debs’ story as much as it is Rafe’s and I found a few more to tell along the way. I have chapters drafted for two more novels - Chris’s story and a new Lexie novel to kick off Phase 2 - but then I had another idea.
          
          The plan now is that, in 2022, The Mortal Masquerade will reboot as an audiobook project. This will be a separate canon to the 1PV novels, though I plan to freely redeploy material used in the books. It is being written in omniscient 3PV across time and dimensions, I hope to have a teaser extract recorded and produced before the New Year (I already have theme music!).
          
          As for the other 1PV books - I may post them up unfinished on Wattpad, which will become my open workshop area. Please let me know below if this is of interest.

With No Exemption For Actors now complete, I'm turning my attention back to the series' original protagonist Lexie. The novel I currently have in progress will finish up the Lexie trilogy and possibly the Mortal Masquerade series as a whole - I have a map now that will allow me to tell all the various stories I have in mind for post-mortal Ketherton, but there's every chance some new branch will develop over the course of this WIP to send me right back down the rabbit hole.
          
          For new readers I have created "Welcome to Ketherton", a brief overview of the series and the order the books should be read in. I'll be adding to this presently with character lists and other tidbits, possibly including concept art.

The latest Mortal Masquerade novella No Exemption for Actors is currently in progress on my profile. Taking place over the same time period as the first two novels (Love Me to the End and The Hungry Garden), this one follows an actor, writer and director called Rafe, as he builds a new life around post-mortal Ketherton and the Mortal Masquerade while waiting for his wife, a Paula Maxa-influenced scream queen. Along the way he meets a full cast of old and new characters including a surrealist performance artist, a former lady wrestler and a tech geek with a unique approach to collecting action figures.
          
          I know where this is going and am posting it as I write roughly three chapters ahead, so reserve the right to make retroedits if something interesting develops I hadn’t planned.
