I'm a liberal geek, but if my writing has a faintly 'hickish' flavor at times, it's probably because I'm a life-long midwesterner. I grew up in central Missouri, and studied history and psychology at a university an hour south of the capital in a small town that was, mathematically, in the middle of nowhere. I lived in northern Colorado for about 8 years while studying social psychology at Colorado State University, and I now reside in eastern Tennessee, where I'm attempting to finish my doctorate long distance.
More than anything I love writing fiction. My first completed novel, The Rise of Azraea, Book I, is an inclusive high fantasy story with elements of comic fantasy and contemporary satire. The sequel, Book II, is currently being posted in segments on https://azraea.blogspot.com/
I've also completed a fantasy story set in Boston ca. 1773, as told in the present by a 315 years old banshee. I plan to perform substantial rewrites on that book in Fall 2018, however, so it will be a longtime before it sees the light of day.
