The short story here "Horsechief" came to me after seeing Johnny Depp play Tonto in "The Lone Ranger" and "Cowboys and Aliens".
I remember always being excitedly ready to go see my grandparents because my paw could weave a yarn. Guess that's what pretty much drives a person to do the things they do when it comes to writing and such.
Wish he was still around. Mostly I miss his silent smiles. Those things can stick with you for a lifetime. The voices will pass from memory with regret, but the smiles. Now there is something you won't forget.
