STOJ - 10/10! This really was Stella in the lead by herself. I get why she wouldn’t want to be seen as a goody goody, but in the end she is just a nice kid. Everyone can see it. Even when she tries to be bad, she just can’t bring herself to do it. I’m glad Principal Ramirez understood and forgave her. And look at that! An adult is doing something about Chandler’s troublemaking! FOR ONCE! Also Bolhoffner practically has death wishes at this point.

BD - 7.5/10. Lori just goes from one place to another. But I can see why she would do the position at the elementary school, she really does like working with kids being the oldest of 11 and she really has grown. I almost feel like this was two plots together though, feel a little bad for Beanie and Joe (at least their business is okay). This Petey’s biggest role and I’m glad he was able to make a new friend in Marco. Though I have to question the timing on everything. I get Lori’s graduated, but why were Leni and Luan at their jobs on school days in the afternoon when their siblings are still in school? Half days? Work emergencies? Kind of inconsistent like Great Lakes Freakout (unless Lori was SPEEDING). One more of that break up to go.

'Bean Dreams' this one is better than I thought it be

I liked the three options the beanie gave to Lori for running her own store were in New York, Paris and…Worchester Massachusetts (and that she implies it’s the best one) that Luan congratulated her, that the show actually acknowledged that she only got into the coffee culture when she come back home.

I also understand why Lori would want to take up Beanie’s offer. Think about what she went through recently. She had left the college and the career of a being a professional golfer she had wanted for a while and had just broken up with her longtime boyfriend. I can see why it would be tempting to take a job offer within a company as not only is it more steady employment then professional golfing would allow but also expand her opportunities to see the world by potentially allowing her to work somewhere new and exciting.
I liked when Lori spilled the ice coffee on Cheryl and that she had to take over for her as playground monitor, Lori attempts at being the monitor not going well, the ā€œnot a single thing to wear jokeā€, Lori and Pettey bounding (which was really cute) Petey finding a new friend in Marco and the foreshowing we got Lori stomach being upset when she’s sad.

I also like that she become the new playground monitor, like Cheryl said she IS good with kids (not withstanding how she used to treat her siblings) think about what happened in ā€œDon't Lose Your Coolā€ from last season’s summer camp arc. There she told the kids she was counseling that she HAS to keep them save, which proves she cares for them. Now we get this one, where she went out of way to help out Petey. It’s a nice continuation of her development even if not intentional. I really can see her as a councilor or a teacher someday.

my only minor criticism that a coffee university is a little too silly for me to take seriously. I I can think of way to make this plot work. Beanie offers Lori training that would let help her become a burnt Bean manger. I know manger training their replacements is a thing and it would have achieved the same result without the bring up the idea of a university devoted to coffee existing. I mean it doesn’t matter she end up deciding to NOT go there but still.

so yeah this one was actually really good. 8/10

'Student of the Jeer'
Stella being seen as being squeaky-clean make sense, out of the gang she is usually the one who tries to talk sense into the others.
I liked Meryl somehow hiding a bag of popcorn AND a tub of butter in her hair, Stella helping out the teachers, Lincoln and Clyde think she was ok with being a goody two shoes, that they dint make the other students unlikeable, Stella trying to be ā€œbadā€ and her immediately cleaning up her messes afterwords, as well as her doing so led to be a shoe in for student of the year or SOTY. Her trying to get the teacher to choose someone else for to be the SOTY, especially when she suggested CHANLDER of all kids. Stella doing a perfect impersonation of Cheryl and her DRAGING the principle Ramierz’s ENTIRE DESK along with the award. finally liked steal accepting who she is and that she shouldn’t care so much about what other students think of her for it.

not too many negatives I can think of. I guess while it’s not amazing it still decent. 7/10

'Spy Dames'

this one sounded fun! I love when the show explores Myrtle's past as a spy.
I liked Myrtle's reaction the wild boar and onion pancakes, hey telling licnodnl to introduce her to his friends and potential girlfriends (that would be a LONG list according to fans), Like Bernie standing in for Zach’s (or Zeke’s) grandfather, the flash back to Mertle fighting the gopher, that we got Boy Jordan got a role, and Mertle used Lincoln’s love of spying against him (kind of a low moment from her but more on that latter), Lincoln trying to use the X-ray glasses to but seeing Mr. Bolhofner butt and I don’t want to think ANY more about that.

I liked Lincoln telling Principal Ramirez she he was head of the grandparents planning day committee and that she actually bought it (kind of weird that she PRINCIPAL wouldn’t know about the committee but again whatever), Him and Meryle trying and failing to see the tattoo, I liked that Myrtle apologies for wrong even though she wasn’t, the reveal that the reason why Myrtle thought the tattoo was on Gertie’s right shoulder was that she was looking at a reflection of it, the fight between Myrtle and Gertie, the Gertie got caught and that Myrtle let her go at end but wish it was cause the statute of limitations on her crimes had run out

my only negatives are that Mertle using Lincoln’s love of spying was but of low blow and Myrtle letting Gertie go because ā€œshe’s truly changedā€ and…that wasn’t really shown, much of the episode was about Mertle and Lincoln trying to uncover Gertie as the gopher so we never really got to see that she did change. Now I’m not saying that she didn’t, she dint trying to steal anything from the school but maybe would’ve been better for Gertie to admit that she was the mole at the start but that she has turned over a new leaf but Mertle doesn’t believe her so the rest of the episode was Mertle and Lincoln trying to prove that she is still a thief.

          still this was good 8/10

this, combined with the lack of definitive release date for many of the episodes, and yes the show feeling like its having the characters make stupid decision to force plots, leads to fans feeling like the show is disrespected a fate that has befallen many nick shows and is yet another step down for the show which at point felt like Nickelodeon’s big 2nd chance, a way to revitalize the network by prompting new shows. Now it feels like the show is being treated an afterthought, a fate that sadly all too common to any show on Nickelodeon apart from ā€œSpongeBob SquarePantsā€.

anyway back to the episode, this was decent nowhere near as bad I feared it would be. 7/10

now with that being said I still think it’s a having Lori and Bobby break up it’s a dumb idea, while there is potential relatability part of the reason we watch cartoon is to escape from reality and fans also form attachment to characters in the show and their relationships with each other. to suddenly have a long lasting relationship, one that has lasted since the very first season, done off is understandably frustrating, even if they had good reasons.

what makes this especially frustrating is that I refuse to believe that the two will stay broken up, this is due to another future episode, making me near certain that Bobby and Lori will be back together at some point. This means that whatever happens in this doesn’t really matter.

said episode is next season’s 'Living the Dream Boat', which despite being in season 11 in airing later this month before other episodes of season 10…but that’s a topic for another time) I am getting a VERY strong impression that they the two will be back together at the end of it (don’t know if I’m right yet). This means that whatever happens in this doesn’t really matter that much because Lori and Bobby will (or at least could) get back together. )

and I think this is what bring me to MY issue with the two ā€œbreaking upā€ that is feels like a ratings grab, a cheap way to draw in more viewers who will tune in to see what happens and how they will resolve this. Now again they gave them a GOOD reason for breaking up but it’s still applicable.

I think the breakup was handled pretty good, they gave each good reason for wanting some time apart, and that Lori and Bobby still care for each other, in fact they care SO much they are willing to let each other go so each can find happiness. like the old saying goes ā€œIf you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never wasā€

Now I….already knew that Lori and Bobby would break up at the end of this. This is due to TV tropes listing some of the future episodes and their plot summaries. because of that I heard about future episodes and one of them gives away that Lori and Bobby DO break up here.

There has certainly been a lot of fan discussion about ā€œhow could the show break them upā€ and how it meant that nick was ā€œruiningā€ the show but I honestly don’t care about that. I get what they are saying, I think it’s beyond stupid to break these two up, in fact I am glad to see that many fans do seem to like Lori and Bobby as a couple as many fans have given them (well mostly Lori) flak for choosing Bobby over her family repeatedly. the thing is she’s was and still is a TEENAGER, who often put too much emphasis on being in a relationship.

in addition very few high school relationships ships survive after graduation. The couple discover that they want different things in life and so their sperate ways, its sad but its almost a right of passage, something that will happen to almost everyone. Now I know that complaining about realism in this show is bit like beating a dead horse, but I still can acknowledge that those two breaking up could be very relatable to many fans at some point or another.

          - How everyone (mostly the ones of middle school) would react about the pancakes of chef Pat?

          - Will someone explain to Zach why did he bring Bernie before Zach will answer the reason on-screen?

          - How everyone (mostly LJ and Lincoln's friends) would react about Boy Jordan's grandma in Myrtle's past?

          - About the X-Ray glasses, did Lisa create it?

          - How everyone would react when they see the broken X-Ray sunglasses, thanks to Bolhofner's butt? I bet Sid will say something like "ugh, adult's butt!"

          - After the episode, did LJ, Albert and Lincoln's friends know about Boy Jordan's grandma?

          In Cupid's Harrow:

          - How everyone would react when they see Miguel trying to make signals to Leni about Bobby and later, Lori during the podcast?

          - Will someone say to Miguel like "oh, so that's how you and Bobby met each other?" after seeing Bobby and Miguel in the flashback?

          - How Lori and Bobby would react after seeing Leni sabotaging them after their calls in the podcast?

          - After the episode, aside from Lincoln, Ronnie Anne and their families, did someone else know Lori and Bobby decided to break up? Clyde, Sid, Carol, Par, anyone?

JTom09

CH: 7/10 B/C I’m a mixed bag. I’m glad it wasn’t Leni being an idiot and Lori and Bobby came to the decision on their own. On the other hand, they had been together since the series started, and Lori doesn’t really have any big changes since her job and apartment are at home… LIKE BOBBY’S. But I get wanting to find yourself. And I’m surprised Bobby’s family would be okay with him going to Mexico for a job (unless they’re finally growing up since Relative Chaos and Thanksgiving), though Lupe and the gods are there. I laughed at Miguel tackling Lori for that visor stuff.

SD: 10/10! Myrtle took the spotlight fully and the tables really have turned compared to NTTS for her and Lincoln. Guess Myrtle’s past coming back to get her with Fifi has made her more alert. And I get Lincoln’s hesitance since he knew Gertie longer (sort of). I knew the reflection in the mirror was gonna come into play. And I’m glad it wasn’t a whole misunderstanding scenario… again. Boy Jordan got some more spotlight. And I can understand why Myrtle let Gertie go since she relates to getting away from the spy life to have a family (just pray X doesn’t catch wind of it). Also Chef Pat’s family has quite the… exquisite taste. And I’m wondering about Zach’s grandpa.

          - Will Polly resist her jelously throught the entre episode?

'My Phony Valentine' so…this was going to be a hard sell for me. I’ve said this before but Rusty is by far my LEASE favorite moment of the gang, he’s annoying, and often arrogant. it’s played for laughs of course but that still makes it hard root for him. so an episode that is a follow up to an episode ( "Let's Break a Dealā€) where he dates what is essentially his gender bent version of himself donest have much appeal to me
added to that is that this sounded like it was going to be a typical ā€œRomeo and Julietā€ plotline, you know two characters like each other but their families don’t want them to be together and they forbid so the couple has to prove their love and it overcomes all. its fine but they would have to do something unique to make this be good for me

          lucky it did
I liked Rusty reaction to Gus question if he smells ā€œAmore in the airā€, the gang being said over Romeo and Julia and especially Zach saying, ā€œthey need to help him find a jobā€ (I like when the show does silly humor right, I liked Lincoln’s plan for Amber and Rusty, the animation that went with it and Kara reaction to it. Rusty picking Zach cause he knew amber wouldn’t fall for him, and Kara wondering why she had to open her big mouth as well as her just NOT loving being Rusty Fake girlfriend
I liked Amber hiding from Mr Spokes and imitating Kara (if it’s not the same voice actress its dead on impersonation), Rusty doing the same for Amber’s mom, the song the two sang and them telling their Parents to leave them out of the feud they had which helped to end it.
          two minor observances
I wonder why Stella and Clyde didn’t show up?
maybe it’s my Muppet loving heart but I kind of wish when Rusty said Scoots wasn’t half bad for Amber so say ā€œshe’s not have good eitherā€ and have them both laugh serving as a shot out to the Muppet shows’ Statler and Waldorf. (speaking of the "muppet show" it got a reboot recently)

negatives? well Lori for one she was shallow and selfish not as much as I feared but still. I don’t know why Lori would listen to ANYTHING scoots says? she’s awful! This also seems to be quick, like the ā€œproblemā€ was brought up quick, Lori relaxing she was wrong was quick and the revelation of Bobby new ā€œgirlfriendā€ was quick. another is that Bobby ā€œgirlfriendā€ being a cardboard cutout is kind of lame, like how could they not realize that? why would Bobbu post that? If the cardboard cutout had word around like in the store why neither Leni or Lori see them? I guess these don’t ruin it for me but it does hurt it.

a minor observance is that it’s interesting that three of the guys we see wanting to date Lori share some of her siblings interests (Lucy, Lincoln and Luan in respectively in order).

so this one didn’t do much for me…maybe because I KNEW that Lori WOULD’T be in a relationship due to knowing what 'Living the Dream Boat' plot is or maybe cause I just didn’t like what Lori was doing (I didn’t hate what she was doing either) but yeah this was is just..ok... probably going to forgot about it 4/10

'Man of My Schemes' This is also a bit of a hard sell. I feared that Lori wouldn’t be sympathetic I mean she was ok with breaking up with Bobby back in ā€œCupid's Harrow" so to have her switch and want to ā€œprove she's winning her breakup by finding a new boyfriend before her social media reputation takes a hitā€ is a VERY hard sell as it makes her seem so shallow. I mean I know she’s probably still a title sad about her breakup but that donest excuse her actions.
I liked Leni trying to hide her phone from Lori and the fight that ensued, Lynn picking up the phone and saying that bobby found a new girlfriend, Leni stuffing a pillow in her mouth to shut her up. Also liked the Leni created dating profile for Lori but used horrible pictures of her for it
I liked that Lori rejecting the three guys we saw, Paarg’s reaction to Lori faking him be her new boyfriend, Paarg revealing that he has a girlfriend and think that ā€œno one can tell he’s too upset to workā€ and Lori owning up to and fixing her mistake.

I did predict that the girl on Bobby photo wasn’t going to be his new ā€œgirlfriendā€ not only cause season 11’s 'Living the Dream Boat' is about Bobby trying to stop Lori from finding a new boyfriend but also because it just seems like the route the show would take. I do however admit I did NOT see how they resolved it, I thoguht that Leni would tell Lori that the new girl is just a friend with him or something. That’s when Lori would try to fix her mistake, glad I was wrong.

I guess there are no major negatives apart from the Rusty Dad and Amber mom being idiots and that’s part of the story. It’s certainly better than the last time the two tried dating (why did Amber give Rusty another chance anyway…ehhh whatever no big deal) It’s not great or anything but still this was decent, much better then what I thought it would be, definitely Rusty’s best episode 7/10

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

MPV - 10/10! This is Rusty’s BEST episode! I’m glad Amber gave him another chance since it was Morpheus who wrecked their last one. Rusty was a total gentleman and he and Amber’s singing together is beautiful and harmonizing. And it was a classic parents won’t let their kids date their business rival’s kids. Romeo and Juliet indeed. Rusty and Amber standing up to point out to their parents that their rivalry shouldn’t extend to them. And Gus needs to keep an eye on his food, both in preparation and presentation. Also Kara walked into that one. And it makes sense why Stella wasn’t in this: if they tried to fool Rodney with him thinking Stella was Rusty’s girlfriend, he’d know something was up since he knows her more.

MOMS - 7/10. Yeah Lori’s insecurities play up again. She really should’ve checked to make sure Paraag wasn’t with anyone before using him as her pawn to show she’s the ā€œwinner in the break up.ā€ Honestly, her break up with Bobby probably isn’t going as well as she thought. Before you wonder why Bobby was somehow in Royal Woods with that cutout, who’s to say that there wasn’t one in the city too? Kudos to Paraag for finding love! And Leni needs to relook how to do online romance page setups. Also Scoots is becoming the new Flip.
