I posted a brand-new  Christmas story: “A Merry Cryptid Christmas” on my free Patreon page a few days ago ( @patreon.com/jackanthem) and thought I would share it with the few WattPad followers I have here.
          
          It’s a quick, festive short story I wrote straight from the holiday spirit. Sure, it might have a few grammatical quirks here and there, but it’s my gift to all of you, my amazing readers and followers. ❤️

NEW DROP: CHAPTER 9: DINO TIMBERMANE IS LIVE!                                                                                      I’m excited to share that Chapter 9 of The Emerville 8 has dropped both her on Wattpad and on my Patreon Account at Patreon.com/jackanthem! This chapter introduces Dino Timbermane, a character I actually first brought to life in one of my editions of The Secret Files of the AO8, which gives a little more background on who he is and where he comes from—at least in our weird little universe.
          
          Sasquatch is, of course, one of the most famous and well-known cryptid creatures of all time, so how could I not include him in my story? Years ago, I visited an Amish community in Pennsylvania and thought to myself: what a wonderful place for a Sasquatch to live quietly among people without the fear of the outside world. That idea planted the seed for Dino’s character.
          
          A few years back, a wonderful woman named Anna (yes, little Anna is an homage to her) tried to teach me sign language. I wasn’t very good at it, but it gave me the perfect way to have Dino communicate with everyone in the community.
          
          After all these years, these ideas have finally come together in this chapter, and I’m thrilled to finally share it with you. I hope you enjoy it and continue to follow the story. Next week, we’re back with Grayson and the gang as they begin their hunt for Bobby.
          
          Side note: there’s also a little homage to a character some of you may recognize from the cartoon world. If anyone can guess who it is, there might be a prize in it for you.

 NEW DROP: CHAPTER 8 — PART 2 IS LIVE! 
          My latest installment of The Emerville 8 just went up on WATTPAD (and my Patreon account at Patreon.com/jackanthem), and this one is a full-on love letter to one of my all-time favorite comic series from the 90s: DC’s legendary “Big Book Of…” line from Paradox Press.
          
          Growing up as a comic book fanatic in the 70s and 80s, I’ve always had a deep love for the medium. And as I mentioned in my Patreon “TheRedacted Room” article, “The Real-World DNA Behind Big Bernie’s Books,” I devoured every single “Big Book Of” volume I could get my hands on. Those books helped wire the weird, wonderful universe that eventually became The Emerville 8.
          
          So this week’s chapter is my homage, my little tribute to the series that shaped so much of my imagination. If you’ve never read the “Big Book Of” graphic novels, go check them out—they’re fantastic.

          And if you are getting a little restless with the high school setting, let me reassure you that we will not be there much longer. This story is about to hit the road, and none of their lives will ever be the same.
          
          What I love most about writing a weekly serial is that no one except the writer knows the ending. We all discover the truth together, one chapter at a time.
