Jak Mussington is an empowered African American women living in Istanbul, Turkey. She works in a preschool. She teaches three year olds how to be independent, like most adults, but in small compact size. After getting over the daunting task of climbing the mountain-perhaps it was a very rocky and steep hill now that she's looking down from the peak-of teaching children who have never seen a person with brown skin, she realized that people of color aren't represented in children's book and young adult fictions. She was even more inspired after seeing Marley Dias' drive to find a 1,000 Black Girl Books. Jak really hopes to see her books a part of the 1,000s of Black Girl Books.

This story was inspired by a three year old in my class. Everytime he makes a mistake he shuts his eyes tight. https://www.wattpad.com/story/95972246View all Conversations
