Hi, I'm new here and wanted to share a bit about myself after reading your comment. I grew up in a small town where opportunities were scarce, but my father, despite his struggles with diabetes, worked tirelessly to provide for our family. He believed in education above all, even borrowing loans and seeking help from people who weren't always kind to him. But in 2019, my world was shaken when he passed away, and I had to navigate the grief while trying to stay focused on my future.

Despite the hardships, I found my strength in storytelling. I remember as a child, pretending to be an actress in my mother’s clothes, and later, writing stories in my diary. But society told me that my dreams weren’t practical. Everyone expected me to become a doctor, engineer, or teacher—anything but a storyteller or actress. So, I tried to follow the traditional path, hoping to make my father proud. But after much inner conflict, I finally made the decision to chase my dream, no matter the obstacles. It wasn’t easy—especially with my humble beginnings—but I started writing scripts after work, joining creative groups, and slowly, my stories began to come to life. Now, I’m more committed than ever to making my dream a reality.

Hi Jane! Congrats on your success. Looking to connect with other writers on here. Do you plan to release work on wattpad? Would you consider checking out my ongoing novel? It's my first novel and I'd love feedback from someone like yourself.

@JaneGreen461 Can you give my chapters votes and I'll consider reaching out? Just verify the human behind the screen as well.

Hi Jane!
Responding to you here, as there was way too much to write to put on the comment thread within the story.

          What pulled me to writing?
-I've always been a creative type (Actor, Writer, Comedian, etc. for 20+ years), and in the process of trying to write my first horror screenplay, I was struggling with the lack of dialogue in the opening scene, so I temporarily switched formats to get the idea on paper, and ended up inadvertently writing the prologue for "Goats from Lambs" and actually ended up liking it more. Since then, I have found that my writing style leans far more towards literary, as opposed to screen, as brevity does not come naturally to me.

          Goals?
-I've published one book (Butterflies in Glass Cases) via a small pub house, but would love to work with a larger pub house to truly make a name for myself, and ideally start adapting my work into tv/film.
-My biggest goal is to get a sizable enough book deal that I can stop worrying about "grown up jobs" (currently working in PR), and move somewhere remote to just write/create for the rest of my life.

          Challenges?
-As with any creative, I'm my biggest critic, often tearing apart my own ideas before they have a chance to thrive/form, and therefore have a bunch of half-written ideas stashed in the darkest recesses of my mind and hard drive.
-With publishing my first book, the biggest challenge was not having a marketing budget, and when combined with my personal distaste for social media, that proved to be a sizable challenge that put an even more sizable dent in my sales.
-Currently, my biggest challenges are finding time to write, as my current work schedule is as demanding as it is unpredictable (PR never sleeps), as well as finding a decent literary agent to fight on my behalf.

@JaneGreen461 Hi Jane. Again, I don’t have time for writing right now, so I wouldn’t have use for a personal assistant.

No need to reach out to him, as there’s nothing to discuss.

Thanks again for offering, but politely passing on this.

@PaulKingston Okay, But can you give him a message to hear from him I can't predict what you will meet from him and I don't want you to over or underestimate him without reaching out to him. I hope you understand me better

Hi Jane!
Thanks for this, but I’m going to politely pass, as I can’t afford a personal assistant at the moment, and frankly, with the lack of time I have to write at the moment, I’m not sure there’d be much for Mac to do.

@JaneGreen461 Thank you for the positive response, I really appreciate. I highly agree with you, support and guidance is really important. Congratulations on all your success, it is an honour getting feedback from you. As of right now, this is a test read. Since it is my first book, I am not sure how far I might take it. I will most definitely consider reaching out to your assistant when I think it through.

Thanks again for the feedback. I hope you have a great day.

@AngelinaMwewa2 Okay, I will be looking forward to hearing you when you made your final decision.
