I'll just rant here 'cause it's been bugging me, freaking stories I've read recently about betraying, cheating and being secretive are so frustrating because of how it makes you anxious with all that's happening then bomb drops, all secrets out, then there's the hurting process which only takes like only a chapter of the story? And then what? They forgive easily.
I get it if that's how their character is, and it's been established since the beginning, or it's part of the character development, but for two people to reconcile right away as if nothing happened?
And don't start with the time skip, geez! Healing is a long process, especially when trust is broken, what I hate more is that when the one who was hurt is still the one who would make a move later on, what the hell? It's not just about being unrealistic but also invalidating those who went through all those pain, as if telling them to just suck it up. Forgiveness is earned, and is given to those who are worthy enough to be forgiven, it's not something you can fix with months later without even doing anything, ugh!
