Hurricane Dorian came to The northern Bahamas as a category 5 storm moving at over 200mphs, practically sitting over us for two days as it stayed still for 6 hours straight. It brought wind, it brought waves, it brought sadness and it brought heartbreak. My childhood neighborhood was destroyed and my home damaged, leaving the place I grew up to be uninhabitable and completely unrecognizable.
But in the end I survived, and my family and friends survived. We’re all safe and after watching the amount of devastation and death that hit, I’m only more appreciative and grateful of what I have and who I have.
Although the current situation is harsh (water damage, destruction of homes and businesses, citizens turning to harm against their own) I’m thankful and will continue to be thankful for my loved ones and supporters. This is all a minor setback in preparation of an even bigger comeback! ♥️
