A small outtake from Didrum

“I've never tasted rabbit meat like this,” Didrum said tasting his stew, trying to figure out what the peculiar taste was.

“That's not rabbit meat,” Adara laughed. “It's rat meat.”

“Oh... well it's delicious rat meat,” he smiled.

As Didrum went to take another spoonful of stew a hand came from behind and grabbed his hand. “Looks good,” a deep threatening voice said. Didrum looked around and saw the huge man behind him with two thugs and a knife in his hand. “That's my stew,” he said pointing at the bowl with his knife.

“Um I...I'm pretty sure it's mine,” Didrum shakily smiled.

The huge man didn't smile back. “I said that's my stew,” he thundered. Everyone in the room stopped talking: there was complete silence as everyone watched.

Didrum looked around at Adara who, looking fiercely at the man, had her hand clutched tightly around the knife that came with the meal. He turned slowly around and passed the bowl to the man who stuck his knife into a piece of meat and shoved it in his mouth.

“I'll take that necklace too,” he said spitting bits of meat on Didrum.

“No...this is my necklace,” Didrum said grabbing the pendant, putting on his bravest face. The man pushed his knife closer to Didrum.

“I said it's my...” As he went to push his knife against Didrum's neck, a dagger whistled across the room straight through the man's hand, forcing him to drop his knife on the ground. Clutching his hand he screamed in pain. Didrum looked over to where it had come from and saw a man rushing across the room, sliding over a table and pulling a short sword out of its sheath. The two thugs pulled out their daggers and launched at him but with two swift hits from the bottom of his sword he knocked them unconscious.
