In my life, I've been both the big frog in the little pond, and the frog that was cooked in the pot of hot water. I want to share these experiences and the lessons that provide a transformational perspective and path towards escaping the perpetual circle of self-condemnation.
We know, there's a little person in all of us, shaped by our unique combination of challenges, discoveries, and growth. The person in my profile picture - that's the person who is still influencing senior-citizen me. I hear his voice daily.
We spend a lifetime seeking to liberate ourselves from the incessant voice that tells us we can't, we shouldn't, and to try only ensures our failure. Like a dam constructed to hold back rivers, we are damned when given a challenge, damned when given opportunity, and damned when we run from those experiences that could stimulate growth, achievement, wealth, and respect. This describes the thinking that has hindered me - that is until I discovered how almost all of us share the same demon that has damned so many to a life of mediocracy. Understanding this is not the revelation. What is unique is my approach to stripping the power of these voices that hold us back. This is what I want to write about.
