Happy 50th Earth Day! Earth Day started in 1970 after a disastrous oil spill leaked into a river near Lake Erie in the United States. The DDT began killing the bald eagle population rapidly. Whales were also near extinction across the world. A call to conservationism and activism to protect our Earth arose, and Earth Day was born.
50 years later—here we are. Remember, no voice or action is ever too small to make a difference! Fight for protecting our home! This is the only Earth we have, and it’s taken good care of us, so let’s take better care of it.
I hope you all can get outside today, and enjoy the nature and the trees and the sunshine, or maybe even plant something new.
And remember... :
“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone ELSE will save it.”
