How Max came to be created.

Max was an experiment of W.D Gaster, she has no parents but people who cared for her when she was younger. The way W.D Gaster went about making her is the same way Alphys was able to fuse determination with the dying monsters. The only difference is that Gaster succeeded with it by making a completely new monster. From both Wolf and Panda DNA, using only a small amount of determination W.D Gaster created Maxie. Giving her the knowledge as well of the timeline and ability to help Sans if he needed it. Max was one of the experiments Gaster was successful of creating before completely vanishing from the timeline all together from another experiment.

In a sense Gaster is Max's creator and father since he was the one that made her. That explains why Max sees Papyrus and Sans as family. The only downfall of being fused with the small dose of determination is the nightmares she has of both Papyrus and Sans being fused and melted together. This also explains why Flowey wants to kill Max because of her knowledge of the timeline and who changes it. Her soul is neon royal darker purple because of the determination that Gaster used was from a fallen human and his own soul.

During the Genocide Part of the game Max's powers increase thanks to her anger and fury as well as her determination, it isn't greater than the players because it is so small, but it is enough to send the player back 17-27 times, depends on the player before she is fully destroyed. And with her death the player can gain more determination, meaning they can steal hers.

Max's greatest fears are losing her friends and disappointing Gaster, who she knows is still alive in another timeline watching everyone especially her.

Her goal is to protect her friends especially Sans and Papyrus, when she fails she will become destroyed and unable to control herself from being extremely depressed. Failure of protecting those around her is her greatest fear.
