Nobody cares, I'm sure. But something's gonna happen here in about a month.

Okay so I want to get into the habit of posting something everyday, be it a poem, a story chapter, contest entry, etc. This update thingy here counts too. XD so I guess that means I should say something that matters.... Let's see, what's your favorite passtime(besides writing, I assume a lot of people here enjoy writing.)

Dear fellow writers, how much of a story do you have to have planned before you write it?

Jc_Art_Space

@SmallBoblnc I usually need a beginning and an end. Unfortunately I've never gotten far enough in a novel to reach the climax. The other events kind of show up as I go along.

@Skyfire33 I never plan anything more than a basic plot. Once I get any idea I just write it down and see what comes to me, kinda like letting the characters write their own story.

Help! Any experienced writers know how to make a chapter longer without adding stupid fillers? I feel like mine are way too short, with somewhere between 800-1500 words each.

@SmallBoblnc I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

@Skyfire33 Yeah! And if you want to keep your readers on their toes, just think first what you'd want to happen if you were reading it, and then what you can make happen that will totally surprised them but isn't outrageous.

@SmallBobInc Thanks. I think it does depend. Like, a battle scene should be fast-paced in comparison to maybe, a romantic scene. Right?
