"Can You Be Mine?"
ᥫ᭡

I don't think he'll ever know
What he truly meant to me.
He wasn't just another boy-
He was the quiet in my chaos,
A breath between my breaking.

I watched him like a secret,
Hoping he'd see the small ways I stayed.
But he never did-
Or maybe he chose not to.
He smiled for someone else
While I kept stitching up
The cracks he left behind.

Still, I saved him
In fragments of songs,
In whispered poems,
In the hush of 2AM thoughts.
I waited, as if waiting
Might make him see me.

But maybe
He was never mine at all.
And maybe
That's the sharpest ache-
Not losing him,
But never holding him to begin with.

And the hardest part?
Sometimes we bleed in silence
For the ones
Who never even notice.

So if you ever need to cry-cry.
If your heart wants to scream-let it.
But please, remember this:

Just because he didn't choose you,
Doesn't mean you are not worthy
Of being chosen.
He missed a rare kind of love.
Not you.

(But still...
Can you be mine?
Can you be mine?)
