@Jedisage People like to act as if Chuck Norris was some untouchable, god-tier fighter whose kicks could rival the Big Bang. In reality, that whole image comes from a long-running internet joke that people gradually started taking far too seriously.
I didn’t even know much about him myself. I’d never watched his films or looked into his career. The first time I heard his name was through Death Battle!. From what I’ve seen, he wasn’t some unstoppable force, just a skilled martial artist who became a well-known actor.
The idea that he’s universally known doesn’t really hold up either. I only found out about him fairly recently, and when I asked people around me, barely anyone even recognized the name. That says a lot about how exaggerated his so-called global reputation really is.
At the end of the day, I don’t care that he’s dead, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Why should I care about someone who means nothing to me? That doesn’t make me a bad person. People die every day, and most of us don’t know them or feel anything about it. Celebrities don’t deserve some automatic emotional response just because they’re famous. If I genuinely care about someone, then their death affects me. If I don’t, then it doesn’t.
