Hey everyone!! Super important anounment! I have discovered that a website has stolen all of my stories and republished without my knowledge nor consent. Everyone on here who has published stories needs to do the following to make sure your own stories have not been stolen also: 1. Go to google and type in “teenfic” 2. Click on link. Beware: you will be hounded by spam and inappropriate popups. 3. Go to the search bar and type in your Wattpad username. If your story (or stories) have been stolen, the name, picture, and summary will come up. If your story has been stolen, please send in a Copyright Infringement report through Wattpad. There is a How-To Guide on here. Good luck everyone!

Thank you for all the info! Yeah, I’ve been over on reddit and they said it was a mirror site, and there wasn’t much we can do. I did go ahead and do the reports tho that was before I read that lol. Anyway, thank you for the links, I’ll check them out later today.

@Jemily25 Hello, I noticed your comment on another book and thought I'd come over and try to explain a bit. Teenfic is a mirror site of Wattpad, like many others that crop up and then disappear again over a number of years. Wattpad has had to deal with A LOT of them, but as they are shut down, another one pops up again. Basically, a mirror site is one which steals the original site's content and puts it up as its own, using a different URL and a whole load of malware. Its purpose is to trick people into clicking on the site, either to read stories that they think are safe or to discover why their own book has been copied from somewhere else, and then steal their data. The pop-ups you've seen are full of viruses and malware which can do awful stuff to your device, which is why it's important to stay calm about these mirror sites and not click on them. Even just pressing the link can result in viruses or hacking. Please be careful. Wattpad is already aware of these sites and does everything it can to get rid of them, but as it isn't an official site and is actually just a copy of Wattpad with hacking devices installed everywhere, they can't file a lawsuit against it. Also, as soon as one mirror site is gone, another one crops up in its place. The most famous ones are Tryuen and TeenFic, but there have been plenty of others over the years and Wattpad users are instructed not to panic. When the Wattpad forums still existed, there were posts about mirror sites and what to do if you find your work on them, but those don't exist anymore and the job of spreading the word is mostly left to Wattpad users. Hope this helps! Please stay safe and avoid that kind of site ♥️ There isn't anything you can do about them, unfortunately, although I have some links to advice from other users, which I can post here :)
