I will freely admit that I prefer to live alongside characters in books and plays where genre can be chosen and worlds can be made. It's rather late here so that's about as comprehensive as I'm going to get. Also, my spelling sucks so I can't talk much about that, but if someone says "there" instead of "they're" or "their" I'll track you down and bribe you with a cookie until you learn them correctly.
