I had the unique pleasure of growing up on a large working ranch in the midst of Texas. This meant cattle drives in every element you could think of, silage seasons (hello allergies), and a broken bone or two from sleepy and cantankerous horses. Bus rides were an hour both ways and rain meant muddy roads and no school. Not that I complained, though. No school meant that I could indulge my unyielding love for literature and, later, my love for writing.
I was a shy kid, a clear poster child for social anxiety, and books offered an outlet to commit incredible feats, fall in love with the handsome bad boy, slay dragons, and the many other things that resonated with my carefully guarded heart. This was an invaluable treasure, especially for a child that changed schools as much as I did. Soon, I began creating my own worlds to play within. The lunch period in high school was a sacred time. Escaping into the computer lab, I would spend that quiet, lovely hour at a computer, typing out glorious tales (they really weren't) and letting my imagination roam wild.
It would be years before I truly found my niche in the Supernatural genre. As someone who had acquired quite an obsession with various mythology, this was the ultimate playground. Which brings me to my current passion project: Blood Secrets.
